"The Home School for Nervous and Delicate Children"
a selection of Christin Couture's monochromatic
paintings, drawings and stereoscopic photos, featuring
whimsical and terrifying images of children.

This body of work, spanning over 25 years, began
in the mid-70's while Couture was living
in this turn- of-the-century New England
schoolhouse, unaware of its unique history.

"...she draws aside the velvet curtain to reveal the darker side of
childhood that lurks deep in every pubescent breast....and couches these
hidden urges in the sugar coating of a Victorian daydream."
